Expect the Best
To expect the best is to live from a place of inner agreement with possibility rather than probability. It is a conscious orientation of thought and feeling that aligns awareness with expansion, allowing life to be met with openness, receptivity, and creative authority. When expectation is elevated, perception refines, energy organizes, and experience begins to reflect that elevated tone. Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote, “Expectancy speeds progress. Therefore, live in a continual state of expectancy.” This is not passive optimism, but an active participation in the unfolding of life, where thought becomes directive and consciousness becomes the creative medium through which greater good is revealed.
There is a dynamic shift that occurs when expectation is no longer shaped by experience but is instead guided by vision and inner knowing. Attention becomes focused, energy becomes coherent, and action begins to flow from a place of clarity and confidence. In this state, life is not approached cautiously but engaged with purpose and trust. Lisa Nichols said, “Your past does not equal your future unless you live there.” Expecting the best, then, becomes a decision to live forward, to hold a standard of thought that invites growth, connection, and opportunity into every moment.
As this way of being is sustained, it generates a momentum that carries its own evidence. Experiences align; outcomes elevate, and what once seemed distant becomes naturally accessible. Expectation becomes the quiet architect of experience, setting the tone, shaping the direction, and opening the pathway for life to express Itself more fully. To expect the best is to claim a higher level of living, where consciousness leads, energy responds, and reality reflects the clarity and magnificence of all the Divinity within the individual.
